THE SKINNY STORY
A strong start for the Bullets as the first period remained scoreless. The second period saw a quick goal from the Blue Jays and a quick answer from Gettysburg making it 1-1 at the half. However, midway through the third period Johns Hopkins scored their second and final goal of the game marking a 2-1 win for the Blue Jays.
THE LEADERS
• Cassie DeBlieck (Grafton, Mass., Grafton) scored the Bullets lone goal off an assist from Morgan Cherry (Phillipsburg, N.J., Phillpsburg).
FOR THE FOES
• Megan Chang scored off an assist from Lila Slattery.
• Lila Slattery scores the final goal with an assist from Kaitlin Coward.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• The first period saw minimal action until the end when Johns Hopkins got their first corner of the game. However, the Gettysburg defense quickly regained possession allowing their offense a few attempts before the end of the period.
• Although the Bullets had a strong start Megan Chang scored for the Blue Jays off a cross Lila Slattery a minute and a half into the second period. Two minutes later and DeBlieck scores on a corner off an assist from Cherry. During the third period Hopkins answers with a goal from Slattery off a pass from Kaitlin Coward. With no action from either teams in the fourth period the Blue Jays took the win 2-1.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The Blue Jays held the advantage in shots 9-6 tonight whereas both teams stayed equal with 2-2 in penalty corners.
• Both goalies saw 3 saves each. One of which, for Emilia Saccento (Scotch Plains, N.J., Scotch Plains Fanwood), came off a penalty stroke from Slattery late in the third period.
