Buy Tickets for Friday's Semifinal at Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg will host one of the two semifinals of 2024 Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball championship tournament on Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.
In the second year of the new six-team format, a change was made to the format this season and the field will be reseeded for the semifinals. The Bullets (19-6, 15-3 CC), who are the No. 1 seed for the first time in the history of the CC tournament, will host the lower-seeded remaining team while Johns Hopkins (19-6, 15-3 CC), the No. 2 seed, will host the higher-seeded remaining team in the other semifinal on Friday at 6 p.m.
A tiebreaking play-in game is required on Monday to determine the No. 6 seed. Muhlenberg (8-17, 7-11) will host Dickinson (10-15, 7-11 CC) at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that game will travel to third-seeded Franklin & Marshall (19-6, 14-4 CC) while fourth-seeded Swarthmore (17-8, 14-4 CC) hosts fifth-seeded Ursinus (13-12, 9-9 CC) on Wednesday. Both games will begin at 7 p.m.
The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game, which will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed. Game time will be announced following the conclusion of Friday's semifinals.
Tickets will be sold for each round of the CC tournament and will be available soon on the Centennial ticketing homepage. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6 through high school and senior citizens. Children five and under as well as students and staff from conference institutions are free.
The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on Mar. 1. The NCAA field will be announced on Monday at 1 p.m.
The Bullets are seeking their fourth conference title and first since 2009. It is the 17th tournament appearance for Gettysburg and third straight. The Bullets also in search of their fifth NCAA tournament bid.
Junior
Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./St. Joseph Hammonton) leads Gettysburg in scoring at 15.0 points per game. He is also tied for the team lead with 55 assists while adding 4.4 rebounds per game and is shooting 53.4 percent from the floor, including 46.9 percent from long range. Juniors
Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and
Akim Joseph (Port-au-Prince, Haiti/Notre Dame Fairfield [Conn.]) are also averaging double figures. Schaller is averaging 11.3 ppg with 55 assists, 35 steals and 35 3-pointers. Joseph is averaging 11.0 ppg to go with 5.8 rebounds per game, 34 3-pointers, 40 assists, 24 steals and 18 blocked shots.
Senior
Ryan McKeon (Landenberg, Pa./Sanford [Del.]) leads the way on the glass at 6.2 rebounds per game and has a team-high 57 blocked shots. He is scoring 8.2 points per game on 53.8 percent shooting 53.8 and has 38 assists.
