Gettysburg men's tennis opened the spring season with a sweep of the Catholic Cardinals, 9-0.
THE LEADERS

Alex Kagan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) won at first singles at doubles. Kagan and
Adam Contract (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) took an 8-3 victory in doubles play before Kagan won 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 in a tiebreaker first singles match.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg swept doubles play, with the second team of
Tyler Blanz (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) and
Matt Porreca winning 8-2.
JP Damare (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) and
Michael Zayneh rounded things out with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
• Contract finished his No. 1 singles match first with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Blanz took a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles to clinch the match.

Michael Zayneh (Portsmouth, Ohio/Heritage Academy) won 6-3, 6-1 at fourth singles.

Ben O'Connor-Skloot (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry) and
Connor McPartland (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks East) took victories at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, to close out the match.
