Salisbury, ranked seventh in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, held No. 4 Gettysburg off the scoreboard for the final 35 minutes, 7 seconds to record a 16-7 victory.

THE REST OF THE STORY

Jordan Basso (Rye, N.Y./Rye) and
Julia Daly staked Gettysburg to a 2-0 lead in the game's first 3:12. Basso finished a solo run with 13:10 to play before Daly converted off a pass from
Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) doubled the lead. Grace Doyle got Salisbury on the board with 11:02 to play before Daly and Sullivan pushed the lead to 4-1 with 9:03 remaining with the duo scoring just 1:22 apart. Leah Vilov sandwiched goals around Basso's second of the afternoon to make it a 5-3 game after one quarter.
• Mary Hanzsche closed the deficit to within one just 1:17 into the second quarter before Sullivan opted to dish down to Daly instead of taking a free-position shot to push the lead back to two with 10:53 on the clock. Goals from Melinda Mears and Hanzsche just 45 seconds apart tied the game with 6:29 remaining in the opening half. A Sullivan rip on a free-position attempt from the top of the arc made it 7-6 with 5:07 showing but Julianna Ott and Camryn Pepper each found the back of the net in the final 4:08 of the half to take an 8-7 edge in to the break.
• The Sea Gulls then ran off the first five goals of the third quarter to take a 13-7 lead with 2:25 to play in the third quarter. Four different Salisbury players scored in the run.
• Erin Scannell converted an extra-player situation with 9:28 remaining to extend the run to eight straight goals for the hosts. Alexandra Parker and Hanzsche capped the scoring in the final 2:26.
THE INSIDE STORY

Caroline Sullivan finished with two goals and two assists while
Jordan Basso had two goals. Daly, Sullivan and Basso were the only three Gettysburg players to register a point on the day.
• Three Salisbury players registered hat tricks as part of the hosts' 36-24 advantage in shots.
