OPENING FACEOFF: Today's non-conference game marks the fourth all-time meeting between No. 10 Gettysburg (3-2) and No. 12 Amherst (4-1) in a series that dates back to 1998. The Bullets lead the all-time series 2-1 but the the Mammoths won the last meeting 18-14 at the Mustang Classic in 2022.

WHEN LAST WE MET: No. 17 Amherst pulled in front with an 8-1 run in the second quarter and then held 10th-ranked Gettysburg at bay with a final surge in the fourth period to pull out an 18-14 win on day two of the Mustang Classic hosted by Stevenson on Mar. 19, 2022. Kieran Ward finished with four goals and an assist to pace Gettysburg. Declan Harrigan finished with four caused turnovers and three ground balls. PJ Clementi totaled six goals for Amherst. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg, ranked 13th, outscored Denison 10-6 in the second half to register a 13-7 win on Saturday. Jack Dunleavy led the Bullets with three goals and three assists. Luke Fisher led the Big Red with two goals and one assist. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

NO. 10 WITH A BULLET: Gettysburg moved up three spots to No. 10 in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll after a home win over Denison on Saturday. 

SOLID BACKSTOP: Chase Morgan has recorded double-digit saves in four of the first five games this season and tallied eight or more in all five contests. The senior netminder has posted a save percentage of better than 50 percent all three victories this season. He recorded a career-high 20 saves in the 11-9 win over Stevenson on Mar. 2. For the year, he has a .542 save percentage and 11.00 goals-against average. His 13.00 saves per game is tops in the conference while the save percentage is third among qualifying goalies in the conference.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore Bob Gross scored five goals to lead Amherst team to a 12-7 win over Colby in NESCAC action on Saturday. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

MAKING A B-LINE TO THE NET: Brendan Reilly and Bob Gross lead the Mammoths in the early going offensively, combining for nearly 40 percent of the team's goals though the first five games. Reilly has found the back of the net 14 times while Gross is second on the squad with 13 tallies. Reilly has multiple goals in all five contests, including recording six against Hamilton on Mar. 9. Gross has a season-best five on Saturday for his fourth multi-goal outing.
