Gettysburg, ranked 11th in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll, scored five times in a 2-minute, 39-second span early in the second quarter as part of a 14-0 first half, leading to a 14-5 win over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS

Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) led the Bullets with a career-high six points on four goals and two assists.

Quinton Mather (Avon, Conn./Avon Old Farms) added a hat trick of his own with three goals and an assist.

Charlie Johnson scored twice in the game's first four minutes to stake the hosts to an early 2-0 lead. He finished an
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) assist just 55 seconds into the game before taking a pass from
Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) just 2:52 later and finishing.
Colin Johnston (Northport, N.Y./St. Anthony's) rifled home an unassisted tally at the 9:54 mark before Johnson completed his hat trick off a transition goal from
Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School [Conn.]) with 4:59 showing in the first quarter.
Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) found
Quinton Mather with 3:35 remaining tallied a goal of his own with 1:22 on the clock for a 6-0 lead after one quarter.
• Mather finished a solo run just 1:18 into the second quarter, starting the five-goal flurry. Johnson found
Luke Barbera (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) on the wing with 12:55 showing then Mather returned the favor for Hearn just 42 seconds later. Barbera needed another just 41 seconds to make it 10-0. The lead went to 11 on a Kessler rip just 29 seconds after that. Johnson converted a man-up tally from Maroney with 9:32 showing then a faceoff violation penalty led to another man-up marker 11 seconds later on a Johnson-to-Mather connection. Maroney made it 14-0 from Hearn with 5:00 to play in the opening half.
• AJ Johnson broke up the shutout, finishing a pass from Jason Fritz with 12:58 to play in the third quarter. Nearly seven minutes later, Fritz finished a solo run to make it 14-2.
• Fritz sandwiched a Nick Wingo goal for three Green Terror goals in the final 4:44.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 48-23 advantage in shots, including 30-4 in the decisive first 30 minutes.
• The Bullets won 15 of 23 faceoffs.
Michael Voehringer (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) went 6 of 10 while
Tate Kuster (Williamstown, Mass./The Williston Northampton School) was 9 of 13.
• Kuster had five ground balls while Voehringer picked up four.

Murphy Hoey (Fairfield, Conn./Berkshire School [Mass.]) made five saves in 24 minutes of action between the pipes – his first collegiate action in goal.
