THE SKINNY STORY
After Catholic closed the deficit to 9-5 midway through the third quarter, No. 2 Gettysburg reeled off nine straight goals to secure a 19-6 win.
THE LEADERS

Jordan Basso (Rye, N.Y./Rye) recorded seven goals and one assist for the most points by a Bullet player in this season.

Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) chipped in three goals, three assists and six ground balls.

Sophie Showers (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) notched her first collegiate hat trick with three tallies.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a slow start by both attacks,
Jordan Basso and
Caroline Sullivan each finished solo runs and scored 69 seconds apart for a 2-0 lead with 3:07 to play in the opening quarter. Jessie Lee converted a free-position attempt with 49 ticks remaining for a 2-1 score after one period.

Emily Crane (Upper Montclair, N.J./Montclair) won the opening draw of the second quarter and immediately found
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley), who streaked to the cage and finished for a 3-1 lead just 12 seconds into the period. Sullivan connected with Basso for a 4-1 lead with 10:55 showing before Crane once again hit Daly with 7:36 on the clock. A Sullivan free-position tally made it a 6-1 game with 3:40 remaining before Izzy Fiore snapped a 13-minute, 41-second drought. Basso, however, had the response in the final 34 seconds to re-establish the five-goal margin at halftime.

Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) stretched the lead to a half-dozen with 9:22 on the clock but Mia Perkell needed just 11 seconds to respond. After another Sullivan free-position marker, Lindsay Sawyer converted an 8-meter shot of her won with 6:33 remaining. Perkell closed the deficit to four just 31 ticks later and forced a Bullet timeout. Ella Paterson (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) found Breedveld cutting in front of the cage for the rookie's first collegiate assist with 4:58 showing and ignited a 9-0 run over the next 8 minutes, 34 seconds of game time that included six before the quarter ended. Basso hit a free-position shot with 4:27 to play before Sullivan found
Sophie Showers with 2:45 showing. Just 50 seconds later,
Meghan Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) lasered a shot home. Basso then went back-to-back solo runs 30 seconds apart to get it to a 10-goal margin with 22 seconds remaining and send the game to the fourth.
• Basso then found Showers for her first assist of the day just 33 seconds into the fourth quarter. Then Sullivan and Basso connected once again on a highlight play with 12:54 to play. Sullivan took a pass at the top of the attack and found Basso cutting through the middle of fan. Basso secured the pass and went behind-the-back top shelf for a 17-5 lead. Crane finished a free-position shot 3:30 later before Ellie Verrill stopped the onslaught, picking up a loose ball and knocking it home with 6:17 on the clock. Showers finished off her hat trick with an 8-meter goal with 2:00 to play.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 29-21 advantage in shots and 19-15 edge in ground balls.
