THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had five multiple run innings offensive and the pitching staff allowed just two runs in 14 innings to sweep McDaniel. The Bullets took game one 7-0 before completing the sweep, 9-2.
THE LEADERS
•
Emily Bakker (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) led the Bullets offensively with four hits in the twinbill that included three doubles. She also had three RBIs and two runs scored.
•
Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) threw 10 innings in the circle, allowing just one run and five total hits while striking out 14. She fanned a season-high nine in the complete game opener before registering four strikeouts in the final three innings of game two to pick up the save.

• Bella Sylvester led the Green Terror with four hits that included a 3-for-4 game two.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one,
Audrey Bergan (Encinitas, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) was hit by a pitch to start the game before moving to second on a sacrifice. After a walk and wild pitch put runners at second and third, an
Allegra DeCandia (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) sacrifice fly staked Gettysburg to a 1-0 lead.
• With two outs in the fourth,
Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J./Jackson Memorial) walked before
Clare Sottile (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spacenkill) singled into left. A fielding error loaded the bases before
Emily Bakker came up with a double to the gap to make it 3-0. Bergan followed with an RBI single to center for a 4-0 lead.

Carlie Goldstein (Verona, N.J./Verona) singled to start the fifth before a pair of fielding errors stretched the lead to 5-0.
• DeCandia walked to lead off the seventh before a one-out O'Leary home run to right-center set the final margin.
• After the Bullets loaded the bases with no one out in the top of the first in game two but could not score, McDaniel jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the inning. Bella Sylvester singled with one out and stole second before scoring on a Makayla Calamita single to center.
• Bergan started the third with a single through the left side before scoring on a
Julia Smith (Marydel, Md./Queen Anne's County) double to the fence. A one-out DeCandia single into the gap plated Smith for a 2-1 lead.
• With two outs in the fourth, Bakker doubled down the line before an infield hit from Bergan and passed ball pushed the lead to 3-1 with Bergan at third. After a Smith walk, a fielding error made it 5-1.
• O'Leary singled with one out in the fifth before Sottile drew a walk. A Bakker two-out double to the fence scored O'Leary. After a pitching change, a wild pitch, stolen base and throwing error extended the advantage to 8-1. A Smith RBI single scored Bergan for a 9-1 lead.
• A one-out walk to Mandy Butz and singles from Sylvester and Paytyn Hazelton made it 9-2 in the bottom of the inning and extended the game.
THE INSIDE STORY
•
Emily Bakker went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in game one while
Audrey Bergan was 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored.
• In game two,
Julia Smith and
Allegra DeCandia joined Bergan and Bakker with two hits. Bergan scored three runs while Smith had two RBIs and two runs scored.
•
Nikki Caesar (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) got the start in the circle for the nightcap, striking out seven in four innings to improve to 3-0 on the year.
• With the sweep, the Bullets are move into fourth place, one game back of first place in the loss column with six conference games to play.
