THE REST OF THE STORY
Jordan Basso scored twice in the game's first 2:02 to stake Gettysburg to a 2-0 lead. Goals from Sage Whiteside and Delaney Herbert, however, just 22 seconds apart drew Dickinson even with 11:17 remaining. Basso found Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) with 8:33 on the clock for her milestone point. Abby Geary once again drew the hosts even with 7:07 on the clock. Maddie Passarello converted an eight-meter shot with 2:56 showing to give the Bullets a 4-3 edge after one quarter.
• Passarello connected with Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) in transition with 10:34 remaining in the second quarter, starting a run of five goals in 5 minutes, 28 seconds. Pasarello scored two more during the run around goals from Meghan Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) and Basso for a 9-3 edge. Geary momentarily halted the run with 3:57 showing but Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) and Daly 50 seconds apart to make it 11-4 with 1:40 remaining. Emma Wynne scored in the waning seconds of the half to close the margin to six at the break.
• Two more Basso goals – one unassisted tally and one off a Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) – to push the advantage to 13-5 just 1:40 into the third quarter. Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) found Daly in front of the net for a nine-goal lead with 10:32 on the clock. Just over a minute later Pasarello hit Daly, who finished for the double-digit margin. Goals from Ella Patterson (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), Breedveld and Daly in a 2-minute, 35-second span – with a running clock – pushed the lead to 18-5 with 6:30 showing.
• Three goals by three different Red Devils in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter closed the deficit to 18-8 but Sullivan found Breedveld before lasering home an Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) pass for the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
