In a battle that spent much of its time in the middle of the field, Gettysburg took advantage of a second-half opportunity to knock off No. 18 Lebanon Valley, 1-0.
THE LEADERS

Chase Sempervive (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) was just able to get a head on a long service for the Bullets and score the game's lone goal.
FOR THE FOES
• Dalton Fitterling made eight saves in goal for the Dutchmen.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• The best chance for either team in the first half came with Lebanon Valley was awarded a penalty kick in the 25th minute.
Leandro Ribeiro (Salvador City, Brazil/Putnam Science Academy) made a diving stop on the initial attempt then turned away a rebound attempt by Nathan Prex, who had taken the initial PK. The Gettysburg backline also turned away a shot attempt off a corner immediately following a wave of subs.
• The Bullets peppered the Dutchmen goal with 14 second-half shots but the only one that found the back of the net came in the 83rd minute.
James Blake (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) turned and sent a ball through the box from the far left wing.
Chase Sempervive timed his jump and was able to just get a piece of the ball, sending it into the far top-right corner.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with an 18-5 advantage in shots that included a decisive 14-2 edge in the second half. Both teams took three corner kicks.

Leandro Ribeiro made four saves in the game for his first collegiate clean sheet.
