Swarthmore found the back of the net in the 63rd and withstood a late surge from Gettysburg for a 1-0 win in the conference opener for both teams.

Alex Jurow (Teaneck, N.J./Parsippany Hills) made five saves in goal to lead the Bullets.
FOR THE FOES
• Ava Gizzie scored the lone goal for the Garnet.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Swarthmore held a 12-0 advantage in shots in the first half but nine of those were off target in a scoreless first 45 minutes. The Garnet took advantage of a misplay on the defensive end in which a ball caromed to Ava Gizzie on the left side and she finished for the game's lone tally.
• Gettysburg had a few chances down the stretch, including a
Zoe Want (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) header that went just wide of the left post.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Swarthmore finished the game with a 24-4 advantage in shots and 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
