Today's non-conference game between Gettysburg (1-1) and Cal Lutheran (2-0) is the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

LAST TIME OUT: After a scoreless opening half, Gettysburg broke through in the 51st minute but Carthage salvaged a tie with a goal in the final 14 seconds of the contest on Thursday night. BACKED IN A CORNER: Gettysburg has allowed five goals in the first three games of the season. However, only two of those five tallies have come during the run of play. The Bullets have allowed a goal off a set piece in each of the first three games. In the first two contests, the opponents scored on their first corner kicks of the game before Carthage converted on its final corner of the game Thursday to forge a tie. Opponents have earned 21 corner kicks in the first three games against Gettysburg this season while the Bullets have drawn just 11.

LAST TIME OUT: Messiah, ranked 18th in the preseason poll, earned a 4-0 win against Cal Lutheran on Thursday. After some back-and-forth play, the Falcons scored once in the first half before three second-half tallies capped the win. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

CROSS-COUNTRY TRIPS: After opening the year at home in Thousand Oaks with two games last weekend, Cal Lutheran is spending this weekend on the east coast. The Kingsmen played at Messiah on Thursday and here this afternoon before flying home. Next weekend, Cal Lutheran takes another long trip to Texas to take on Trinity and Southwestern. The Kingsmen then do not leave the state of California for the remainder of the regular season.

SPREADING THE LOVE: Cal Lutheran opened its season with back-to-back 2-1 wins before being shut out at Messiah on Thursday. Four different players have scored the first four goals and five different players have registered a point.
