OPENING TIP: Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 89th all-time meeting between No. 12 Gettysburg (12-1, 2-0 CC) and No. 22 Johns Hopkins (9-2, 3-0 CC) in a series that dates back to 1980. The Bullets have won six of the last seven meetings and 16 of 18 dating back to 2017. The last Blue Jay win came in the first of three meetings last season in Baltimore 66-63 on Nov. 21.
WHEN LAST WE MET: As the adage goes, defense wins championships. Gettysburg took that to new heights, locking down No. 13 Johns Hopkins – especially through the first 18 minutes – before the offense got just enough going late to secure a third straight Centennial Conference (CC) championship 64-55 at Johns Hopkins on Feb. 25. Shinya Lee was the centerpiece of the defense for the Bullets to earn tournament most valuable player honors. She pulled down a career high-tying 17 rebounds to go with a season-best seven blocked shots. She also scored 10 points, including hitting all four of her free throws in the final two minutes. Elisabeth Peebles led the Blue Jays with 16 points. (Full Recap) (Box Score)
