THE SKINNY STORY
Franklin & Marshall scored the first four points of the fifth set en route to a 15-7 win to notch a 3-2 win over Gettysburg.
THE LEADERS

Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) led the Bullets with 16 kills, hitting .452 on the night. She also added four blocks and three aces.

Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School) chipped in a career-high 28 digs.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Two
Mary Huegel kills helped stake Gettysburg to a 7-3 lead in the opening set. Franklin & Marshall responded with the next five points for an 8-7 edge. After 11 ties and 10 lead changes, a pair of Bullet errors gave the hosts a 22-20 lead. Melissa Benkowitz added a kill for a 23-20 lead en route to a 25-22 victory.
• Gettysburg jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second set and held that lead for the remainder of the set. A Carly Campbell ace closed the set to 20-19 before Huegel responded a kill to start a run of four straight points. Huegel then wrapped up a 25-22 set to even the match at 1-all.
• The third set featured eight ties and five lead changes with neither team leading by more than three until back-to-back Huegel aces gave the Bullets a 21-17 advantage. An
Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard School) kill pushed the lead to five. Franklin & Marshall clawed back to within 24-22 before
Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) knocked down a kill for a 25-22 win.
• The Bullets maintained a lead of up to two points in the fourth set until, tied at 15-all, Avery Grantham put down a pair of kills for a 17-15 lead. Emily Dean put down an ace to cap a 9-1 run and force a timeout. Grantham added another knockdown on the other side of the stoppage for a 23-16 lead en route to a 25-19 victory to force the deciding set.
• A Liah Perez ace capped a 4-0 start to the fifth set. Gettysburg, however, countered with a 4-2 stretch to close to within 6-4. After the teams traded points, the Diplomats finished the match on an 8-2 run for a 15-7 victory.
THE INSIDE STORY
