Carnegie Mellon, ranked 16th in the latest d3football.com poll, scored 24 points in the second quarter to open up a 31-0 halftime lead before defeating Gettysburg by a 44-20 margin.
THE LEADERS

Sean Clark (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) completed 16 of 34 passes for the Bullets, throwing for 198 yards and a touchdown.

Landon Hunt (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) ran the ball 10 times, establishing a career high with 94 yards.
FOR THE FOES
• Joey McGinnis IV led the Tartans with 379 yards passing, completing 22 of 31 passes with four touchdowns.
• Reece Kolke caught six passes for 170 yards and a touchdown.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a fumble recovery set Carnegie Mellon up at the Gettysburg 1, Giacomo Valente punched it in on the Tartans' first offensive play for a 7-0 lead at the 11:10 mark.
• That lead held CMU scored touchdowns on three straight drives in the second quarter to build a 28-0 lead. Brendon McCullough caught a 12-yard pass with 8:18 showing before Reece Kolke scored on a 75-yard connection with 5:51 remaining and McCullough capped the run with a 12-yard TD at the 1:19 mark. Justin Caputo then added a 41-yard field goal as the first half expired.

Jason Roskam (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) capped a six-play, 70-yard drive with a seven-yard touchdown grab with 5:04 to play in the third quarter. Another Caputo 25-yard field goal made it 41-7 heading to the final period.

Drew Branstetter (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) threw a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes around a 21-yard John Norell field goal. Branstetter hit
Josh Burke (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) from one yard out with 11:25 on the clock before connecting with
Matt O'Connor (Stamford, Conn./St. Luke's School) from four yards with 62 ticks left.
THE INSIDE STORY

Ty Can (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) led the defense with seven tackles and a pass breakup.
• Carnegie Mellon finished with a 532-340 advantage in total offense, including 344-93 in the first half.
