Gettysburg takes down Keystone

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg recorded 19 aces and hit .325 in a 3-0 win over Keystone.

THE LEADERS
Riley Smialowicz (Columbia, Md./Atholton) led the Bullets with four aces and three digs.
Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) paced the attack with seven kills and no errors on 13 attack attempts. She also had three aces, four digs and two blocks.
Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School) chipped in nine digs, three aces and two assists.

FOR THE FOES
• Hailey Mowry led the Giants with three kills, four digs and two blocks.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Kendall Erpenbeck (San Jose, Calif./Prospect) started the match with back-to-back aces before Erin Gonzalez knocked down consecutive kills. Gonzalez added a run of 12 straight service points to open up a 17-1 lead en route to a 25-5 victory.
• An attack error and block from Jamilah Higgins and Hailey Block staked Keystone to a 2-0 lead in the second set. Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra), however, followed an Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard School) kill with back-to-back aces for a 3-2 lead. Kierra Fox added another two aces to help build a 9-3 lead. Riley Smialowicz capped a 22-5 lead with four straight aces en route to a 25-7 win.
• A run of 11 straight service points from Grall opened up a 13-1 lead in the third set before Gettysburg closed the sweep with a 25-10 victory.

THE INSIDE STORY
Ava Grall chipped in nine digs, five kills and three aces.
Ellen Manke had five kills and three blocks on the night.
• The 19 aces for the team were the most by the Bullets since knocking down 20 aces against Ramapo on Sept. 21, 2012.
