THE LEADERS
•
Nate Williams (Morganville, N.J./St. John Vianney) led the Bullets with 13 points and six rebounds.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After an early back-and-forth,
Dom Neverbickas (Vilnius, Lithuania/Perkiomen School [Pa.]) hit a layup to make it 8-7 and spark an 11-0 run over a 2-minute, 30-second stretch to take a 16-8 lead with 12:18 to play. A
Nate Williams triple and
Aidan Mess (Columbia, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) layup pushed to lead to as large as nine at 27-18 with 7:31 showing. The teams traded baskets over the rest of the half until Jackson Cormier hit the second of two free throws in the final minute to make it a 33-27 game at the intermission.
• Five points from Zach Wolinski out of the second-half gate coupled with two Sam Pohlman free throws at the 18:23 mark closed the deficit to 35-34. A
Reece Craft (Downingtown, Pa./Devon Prep) putback stretched the lead back to three but Jackson Cormier scored three straight points to tie the game with 17:04 showing.
Caleb Gillus (Falls Church, Va./Sidwell Friends School [D.C.]) responded with a three-point play. After a back-and-forth, Oscar Edelman hit three free throws with 9:13 on the clock to break a 44-all deadlock and give the Cardinals the lead for good. He then added a layup on the next possession for their largest lead of the game to that point. Clinging to a 51-49 lead, Pohlman and Fritz Hauser hit layups on back-to-back possessions to go up 55-49 with 3:21 to play. Edelman pushed the lead to 59-51 with 80 seconds remaining. Williams drained a 3-pointer and then hit two free throws with 39.1 seconds left to make it a one-possession game. The defense got a stop at the other end but the potential game-tying triple from the corner did not go.
