LANCASTER, Pa. –
Evan Graham (Crofton, Md./The Key School), a sophomore on the Gettysburg men's swimming team, has been named Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Swimmer of the Week, for the week of Nov. 17-23.
It is the second time this season he has earned the honor.
Graham led the Bullets to a fourth-place finish at the Phoenix Fall Classic hosted by Chicago, finishing the weekend with four program records, three NCAA B-Cuts and three conference records. On Friday, he wrapped up the night by splitting a program- and conference-record 100 backstroke time of 47.98 seconds in the 400 medley relay, which also broke the program record with a time of 3:19.32, placing fourth. On Saturday, he added a B-Cut, program- and conference-record time of 3:54.02 in the prelims of the 400 IM. He also turned in times in both the prelims and finals of the 100 back that would have been program records without his Friday split time. On Sunday, Graham added another B-Cut, program- and conference-record – this time in the 200 backstroke with his time of 1:45.57, which placed second in the field.
Graham was also a part of the 200 free relay (seventh in program history, 1:22.08), 200 medley relay (second in program history, 1:29.87) 400 free relay (third in program history, 3:01.53). All three of Graham's conference-record marks currently rank among the top five in Division III this season.
Gettysburg returns to action at its own Gettysburg Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6. Friday's opening session begins at 6 p.m.
