THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 19th in the USILA Div. III preseason coaches' poll, scored seven straight goals in the first half quarter to build a 9-3 lead and take a 9-4 lead into the break to upend No. 12 Lynchburg 16-9 in the season opener for both teams.

Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) led the Bullets with a career-high four goals.

• Jake Rust led the Hornets with three tallies.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Stokes Myers (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) opened the scoring with an unassisted tally just 2:25 into the game. Back-to-back markers from Jake Rust and Liam Holman 73 seconds apart gave Lynchburg a one-goal lead with 9:58 showing.
Jack Dunleavy (New Providence, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) found the back of the net for the equalizer four minutes later before Brody Mason put the hosts back up by one with 5:20 on the clock. Dunleavy found
Jackson Hearn to tie the score for the third time with 2:34 to play in the opening quarter and
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) put the Bullets in front for good with 17 ticks remaining.
• Kessler made it back-to-back tallies off a Myers assist with 9:45 to play.
Jackson Barroll (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) found the back of the net for the first time in his career with 5:37 showing. After Dunleavy made it 7-3, Barroll added a second less than three minutes after his first and
Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) finished the 7-0 run with 1:27 showing. Kayden Hinchey cut the margin to five just 32 seconds before the break.
• The teams traded goals through the first half of the third quarter before back-to-back tallies from Van Tanguay and Jake Rust made it 12-8 with 4:39 remaining. A Dunleavy man-up tally capped a hat trick with 3:03 showing and Hearn reached the three-goal mark just shy of two minutes later.

Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) finished from Barroll to make it 15-8 with 10:34 to play. The offenses went cold until Hearn ripped a solo run with 4:05 remaining and Charlie Evans set the final margin with 3:33 to play.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Six different Bullets finished with multiple goals in the game.

Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School) chipped in three caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Tate Kuster (Williamstown, Mass./The Williston Northampton School) added six faceoff wins and five ground balls.
