Four Gettysburg players earn USILA All-America honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Four members of the Gettysburg men's lacrosse team have been named to the Blatant Lacrosse Division III All-America team, announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Wednesday.

Brian Delduchetto (Weston, Mass./Deerfield Academy), Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School [Conn.]), Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) were tabbed honorable mention.

Delduchetto, a junior defender, is making his first appearance on the All-America team after claiming first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) honors. Starting all 17 games, he led the team with 23 caused turnovers while also picking up 23 ground balls. He recorded two or more caused turnovers in seven games, including three caused turnovers to go with four ground balls at Washington on Apr. 18.

Hedley, a senior long-stick midfielder claims his third All-America nod. He was named second-team all-conference. Playing all 17 games, he had 35 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. He also contributed seven goals and three assists to the attack. He recorded multiple ground balls in 13 games, including five against Franklin & Marshall on Apr. 25 to go with two caused turnovers.

Johnson, a junior attacker, makes his first appearance on the All-America team after earning first-team all-conference honors. Appearing in 15 games with 14 starts, he led the team with 44 goals and ranked third on the team with 50 points. He has scored multiple goals in 12 contests with five or more goals in five games. He has also picked up 35 ground balls.

Kessler, a senior attacker, is making his first appearance on the All-America team. Starting all 17 games, he was fourth on the team with 27 goals and has added 17 assists for 44 points. He scored multiple goals in five games this season, including tallying four at both Dickinson on Apr. 8 and Washington on Apr. 18. He had three or more points in nine games this season.

The Bullets finished the season with a record of 12-5 (7-1 CC), winning the conference championship with a 13-12 overtime win at Dickinson before falling in the second round of the NCAA tournament to Washington and Lee on Saturday.
