THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked ninth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, scored three of the first four goals in the fourth quarter to open up a six-goal lead en route to a 17-12 win at Messiah.
THE LEADERS

Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) led the Bullets with a career-high nine points, contributing a career-high six assists and three goals.
•
Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) added three goals and three assists. She also had five draw controls.
FOR THE FOES
• Grace Pettitt led the Falcons with three goals and two assists.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• After Hayley Lettinga staked Messiah to a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game,
Emily Crane responded with an advantage goal just 30 seconds later to tie the game. Crane then found
Julia Daly nearly three minutes later for a 2-1 lead.
Sarah Scollin (Oreland, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) found the back of the net for the first tally of her career with 5:51 to play in the first. Grace Pettitt cut the margin to one before Daly hit Crane and
Julie Breedveld (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) in the final 4:24 of the opening period to take a 5-2 lead.
• Crane capped her hat trick with 11:12 to play in the second quarter. After Pettitt and
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) traded goals, Hannah Gawne and Pettitt each found the back of the net to close the margin to two with 2:53 showing but Daly's second tally with 1:35 on the clock made it an 8-5 game at the break.
• Passarello scored 49 seconds into the third quarter off a
Grace Battle (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) feed.
Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) made it a five-goal lead with 12:00 showing before three straight Messiah tallies closed the margin to 10-8 just over four minutes later. Battle then scored her first collegiate goal to break up the run with 6:52 on the clock. After an Annalise Keitel goal,
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) started a counter of three straight Bullet tallies in just 1 minute, 47 seconds to extend the lead to 14-9.
• After Messiah made it a 14-10 game at the end of the third, Daly finished off her hat trick 35 seconds into the fourth quarter. Jordan Lewicki had the answer for the Falcons but back-to-back Kelly scores made it three players with three-goal outings and stretched the lead to 17-11 with 9:33 to play. Alina Bernal-Clark set the final margin in the waning seconds.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 37-23 advantage in shots.

Michaela Kelly finished with three goals, one assists, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
