OPENING FACEOFF: Today's non-conference game marks the 42nd all-time meeting between No. 12 Gettysburg (1-0) and No. 3 Salisbury (3-0) in a series that dates back to 1992. The Sea Gulls lead the all-time series 32-9 and won 14-8 last year in Salisbury. The Bullets won the last meeting in Gettysburg two years ago, 12-10.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Salisbury, ranked No. 1 at the time, used a 6-0 run that spanned the second and third quarter to turn a tie game into an 11-5 lead and defeat then-No. 6 Gettysburg 14-8 on Feb. 24 last season. Charlie Johnson led the Bullets with two goals and an assist. Jude Brown and Brice Bromwell led the Sea Gulls with five points each, tallying four goals and one assist apiece. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg scored seven straight goals in the first half quarter to build a 9-3 lead and take a 9-4 lead into the break to upend No. 12 Lynchburg 16-9 in the season opener for both teams last Saturday. NO. 12 WITH A BULLET: Gettysburg moved up seven spots to No. 12 in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll after the 16-9 win at then-No. 12 Lynchburg last Saturday. 

HEAD OF THE CLASS: Sophomore Jackson Hearn was named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the Bullets to a 16-9 win at No. 12 Lynchburg in the season opener on Saturday. He scored a career-best four goals on four shots. He also had a caused turnover. 

BALANCED ATTACK: Gettysburg had nine different players register a point in the season opener at Lynchburg last Saturday. A pair of freshman found the back of the net in their first collegiate games. Jackson Barroll recorded a goal and two assists while Nicholas Limberg also found paydirt in the second quarter. In addition to Jackson Hearn's four markers, Jack Dunleavy added a four-point day, adding an assist to his hat trick. Charlie Johnson contributed two goals and two assists.

LAST TIME OUT: Third-ranked Salisbury overcame a slow start with two goals in the final 6:14 of the first quarter for a 2-1 lead en route to a 17-4 victory over Scranton last Saturday. Brice Bromwell logged a game-high six points on two goals and four assists to lead the Sea Gulls. He also added pairs of ground balls and caused turnovers in the win. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

DEFENSIVE MINDED: Through three games this season, Salisbury has allowed a total of 13 goals. The Sea Gulls have posted a 3.50 goals-against average in their two home games this season, holding Eastern to just three goals in the opener before limiting Scranton to four last Saturday. In a neutral-site game at the UnderArmour Global Headquarters in Baltimore on Feb. 8, Salisbury played a tight 8-6 game with Grove City. The Sea Gulls jumped out to a 4-0 lead in that game and held an 8-4 lead before the Wolverines scored twice in the final four minutes. Nicholas Ramson has backstopped the defense with a 4.52 goals-against average and .625 save percentage in 159 minutes between the pipes. Jeremiah Stafford has 10 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls to lead the defense.
