OPENING DRAW: Today's non-conference game marks the 13th all-time meeting between No. 9 Gettysburg (1-0) and Denison (0-0) in a series that dates back to 2002. The Bullets have won all previous 12 meetings.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Gettysburg scored nine straight goals over a 15-minute, 15-second span to take a 12-3 lead late in the second quarter before eventually toppling No. 25 Denison 17-10 last season. Caroline Sullivan led the Bullets with a six goals while adding an assist, four ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg, ranked ninth, scored three of the first four goals in the fourth quarter to open up a six-goal lead en route to a 17-12 win at Messiah. Julia Daly led the Bullets with a career-high nine points, contributing a career-high six assists and three goals. Emily Crane added three goals and three assists. She also had five draw controls. NO. 9 WITH A BULLET: Gettysburg was ranked ninth in the preseason IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll and remained there in the first poll on Monday before playing its first contest of the season.

NINE FOR NINE: Julia Daly opened her junior campaign with a bang, pouring in a career-high nine points to lead the Bullets to a 17-12 win at Messiah on Wednesday. She tallied her 26th career hat trick to go with a career-best six assists. Daly also added five ground balls in the victory.

LAST TIME OUT: Dension ended its 2024 season in the NCAA tournament third round at Franklin & Marshall, falling to Tufts, 22-13. The Big Red won the NCAC championship and finished the year with an overall record of 15-5 that included a perfect 6-0 conference mark. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

HALF AND HALF: Denison had seven players named All-NCAC last season and three of the conference's major awards in 2024. However, the Big Red returns only half of that group to the 2025 squad. Mary Daniel highlights the returners after claiming NCAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades. She paced the squad in both draw controls (86) and ground balls (35) and was sixth in caused turnovers (21). Grace Schlossberg was the 2024 Newcomer of the Year in the conference, bursting on the scene with a team-best 28 caused turnovers to go with 30 ground balls and five draw controls. Mary Martinson, a third-team All-NCAC honoree, is the leading returner to the offense with 31 goals and one assist a season ago.
