THE SKINNY STORY
After dropping a 7-6 extra-inning game to LaGrange, Gettysburg bounced back with a run-rule win, topping Stevens 8-0 in five innings on the second day of the NFCA Leadoff Classic.

THE LEADERS
Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led the way for the Bullets, tossing a five-inning perfect game with four strikeouts – the first of her career.

FOR THE FOES
• Kayla Helms led the Panthers with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, adding three RBIs and two runs scored.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) led off the second inning against LaGrange with a single before moving up a base on a sacrifice. A two-out Jordan Pansy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Notre Dame) single to right staked Gettysburg to a 1-0 lead. Audrey Bergan (Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) and Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) followed with a pair of singles to load the bases before Carlie Goldstein (Verona, N.J./Verona) cleared them with a double for a 4-0 lead.
• After an error and single put two runners on in the bottom of the inning, Kayla Helms quickly made it a 4-3 game with a home run to left center.
• A Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) single and Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J./Jackson Memorial) double put two on with one out in the third for Lily Mader (Las Vegas, Nev./Valley), who singled home DeFreitas to push the lead back to two.
• Two singles and a hit batter loaded the bases no outs in the bottom of the sixth. Abby Vanhoose followed with a two-run single up the middle to tie the game at 5-all. After a single reloaded the bases, Paige Forry came in to strand the bases loaded and keep it a tie game.
• Pinch-runner Abigail Gold (Apex, N.C./Apex) moved to third on a passed ball to start the top of the eighth before scoring on a one-out Laczkowski sacrifice fly for a 6-5 edge.
• After a bunt pushed the tying run in Breonn Newbille to third in the bottom of the inning, Vanhoose dropped down a squeeze and beat it out to tie the game. A fielding error loaded the bases before Claire Chamberlain poked a single into right for the game-winner.
• In game two against Stevens, a Bergan leadoff walk and one-out, two-run Laczkowski home run staked Gettysburg to a 2-0 lead and that's all that Forry would ultimately need. The Bullets added a third run in the frame.
• Singles from Bergan, O'Leary and Laczkowski coupled with an error and two walks doubled the lead in the second.
• A Laczkowski sacrifice fly and Elliana Hopple (Collegeville, Pa./The Episcopal Academy) single each plated a run in the third to put Gettysburg in run-rule position.

THE INSIDE STORY
Audrey Bergan, Lauren O'Leary and Lily Mader each had two hits in game one while Carlie Goldstein drove in three.
• Bergan, O'Leary and Renee Laczkowski all had a pair of hits in the nightcap.
