THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 17th in the latest NFCA Div. III coaches' poll, used big sixth innings in both games to break open close games and sweep Lebanon Valley. The Bullets captured game one 8-1 before taking game two, 10-4.

THE LEADERS
Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) led the Bullets with four hits – two in each game – and three RBIs in the twinbill.
Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) went the distance in game one with 10 strikeouts and no walks before picking up the save in the nightcap with two more strikeouts.

FOR THE FOES
• Holly Grube led the Flying Dutchmen with four hits on the day.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) and Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) led off the second inning with back-to-back doubles for a 1-0 Gettysburg lead.
• A leadoff error in the third inning opened the door for two unearned runs on back-to-back two-out singles from DeFreitas and Laczkowski.
• A Julia Craig leadoff single and two errors made it 3-1 in the top of the fourth before Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J./Jackson Memorial) led off the home half of the inning with a walk. After she took second on a wild pitch, an Audrey Bergan (Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) singled with two outs for a 4-1 lead.
Carlie Goldstein (Verona, N.J./Verona) was hit by a pitch to start the sixth before an Abigail Gold (Apex, N.C./Apex) infield single and Bergan walk loaded the bases. Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) singled home Goldstein before an Elliana Hopple (Collegeville, Pa./The Episcopal Academy) two-run line-drive to left made it 7-1. A wild pitch allowed Shaw to score from third for the 8-1 final.
• Megan Heard led off the second game with a single to left before Holly Grube poked a single up the middle. A sacrifice and Maddy Gronback double staked Lebanon Valley to a 2-0 lead.
• Laczkowski and Pelekis both doubled to start the second and cut the deficit in half. A pair of groundouts tied the game before a Gold walk and stolen base put a runner in scoring position for Bergan, who singled through the left side for a 3-2 edge.
• DeFreitas drew a one-out walk in the home third before a Laczkowski single and wild pitch had two runners in scoring position. Pelekis poked a ball back up the middle to score both runners and stretch the lead to 5-2.
• The Bullets tacked on a run in the fourth on a DeFreitas one-out RBI single before a one-out Heard double and Grube single made it 6-3 in the fifth. A Gronback two-out single up the middle cut the deficit to two.
• O'Leary was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the inning before she scored on a Gold one-out double.
• Two walks and three wild pitches keyed a three-run sixth inning that set the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
Morgan DeFreitas went 3-for-3 in the opener while Audrey Bergan, Jamie Shaw and Renee Laczkowski all added two hits as part of a 13-hit attack in game one.
• Laczkowski added three hits in the nightcap.
Audrey Wright (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) threw 4 2/3 innings with two strikeouts and no walks for the game-two win.
