Gettysburg opens spring at Savannah Invitational

THE FACTS
Gettysburg finishes 19th

THE SKINNY STORY
In a field that featured 15 top-25 teams, Gettysburg finished 19th with a three-round score of 903 that included a second-round 296 at the Savannah Invitational. The Bullets fired an opening-round score of 301 to start the 36-hole day on Monday before finishing with a score of 306 on Tuesday.

THE LEADERS
Daniel Casanta (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) led the Bullets with a score of 217 to finish 17th in the field. He fired a round of two-under 70 to start the tournament on Monday morning before finishing with rounds of 74 and 73, respectively, to finish with a 54-hole score of one-over par.

FOR THE FOES
• Washington and Lee won the 20-team invitational with a score of 855, edging Methodist by a single stroke. The Generals fired three rounds of 288 or better (288-282-295) to finish nine-under par as a team.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Daniel Suter (Gaithersburg, Md./Milton Academy) finished tied for 30th with a score of 220. He opened with a round of 74 before back-to-back rounds of 73.
Patrick Kilcoyne (Belmont, Mass./Belmont) was 83rd in the field with a score of 230. He carded a round of one-under par 71 on Monday afternoon to sandwich rounds of 79 and 80.
Christian Deussing (Doylestown, Pa./Hun School of Princeton [N.J.]) was 93rd overall with a score of 38 (78-80-80) while Reece Scott (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) placed 100th with a score of 248 (80-78-90).

THE INSIDE STORY
Daniel Casanta's 54-hole score of 217 is the second lowest score for three rounds in program history.
