THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, went on a 4-0 run that spanned both sides of halftime to open up a six-goal lead and defeat Swarthmore, 17-8.
THE LEADERS

Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) led the Bullets with six goals and one assist. She also had a ground ball and caused turnover.
•
Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) added two goals to go with 10 draw controls, a ground ball and caused turnover.
FOR THE FOES
• Aubree Daugherty led the Garnet with four goals and an assist.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) finished a
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) feed just 1:44 into the game for early 1-0 Gettysburg lead. Sophie Finkelstein responded 2 minutes, 18 seconds later to tie the game at 1-all.
Julia Daly sandwiched a Kelly marker over 11:22 of game time to make it a 4-1 game with 12:35 to play in the second quarter.
• Smith found the back of the net for a second time with an unassisted tally to make it 5-1 nearly a minute later. Back-to-back Aubree Daugherty goals in a 46-second span cut the margin to 5-3 with 2:29 to play in the opening half.
Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) scored just over a minute later before
Emily Crane just beat the first-half horn, extending the lead to 7-3 at the intermission.
• Two Daly markers 42 seconds apart made it 9-3 before two minutes had elapsed in the third period. Daugherty added her third 37 seconds later before Smith and Daly scored 1 minute, 26 seconds apart, making it an 11-4 game with 9:22 showing. After Daugherty netted her fifth,
Meghan Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) scored the Bullets' second advantage goal of the game before
Sarah Scollin (Orefield, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) scored 28 seconds later. Claire Long found the back of the net with 2:14 to play before
Grace Battle (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) and Daly each scored in the final 1:18 to stretch the lead to 15-6 after three quarters.
• Another Long tally with 9:26 showing made it 15-7 before Crane scored just over two minutes later off a feed from
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood). Kelly scored her second with 2:50 left to make it a 10-goal game before Isabela Bloomquist set the final margin with 29 ticks remaining.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 34-26 advantage in shots and 15-12 edge in draw controls.

Sophie Smith finished with a hat trick for the Bullets.
• With the win, Gettysburg officially secured a spot in the upcoming Centennial Conference tournament semifinals.
