THE SKINNY STORY
York, ranked 19th in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll, scored the first five goals of the game and No. 7 Gettysburg got no closer than four the rest of the way in a 20-11 Spartan victory.
THE LEADERS

Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) led the Bullets with three goals.

Jackson Barroll (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) added a second straight hat trick.
FOR THE FOES
• Nick Schilling led the Spartans with seven goals and two assists for nine points. He also had three ground balls.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• York won the opening faceoff and Hugo Spencer found Gavin Gismondi for a 1-0 lead just six seconds into the game. Coleton Mahorney made a 2-0 lead with 12:32 showing before Nate Schilling stretched the advantage to 3-0 less than a minute later. A man-up tally from Colby Berard gave the hosts a 4-0 lead before four minutes had elapsed in the game. Schilling scored his second of the night with 10:09 showing for a 5-0 lead.
Jackson Barroll got Gettysburg on the board with 8:54 on the clock but Mahorney and Schilling scored 56 seconds apart to make it 7-1 with 7:23 on the clock. After Mahorney stretched the lead to 8-1,
Patrick Maroney and Davis Fisher traded goals 55 seconds apart for a 9-2 game with 3:22 remaining in the opening period. Cory Bergmann stretched the advantage to 10-2 after one.
• Back-to-back tallies from Maroney in the first 1:40 of the second quarter closed the margin to 10-4 but another Mahorney tally with 12:42 showing made it 11-4.
Jack Dunleavy (New Providence, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) finished a solo run before Barroll scored a man-up tally to trim the deficit to 11-6 with 10:05 remaining. A Blake Morton tally and two more from Schilling in a two-minute span extended the lead to 14-6 with 3:58 to play before the intermission.
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) found the back of the net just 32 seconds later to make it 14-7 at the break.

Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) closed the deficit to 14-8 just over four minutes into the third quarter but Schilling and Bergmann each found the back of the net again to push the lead back to eight. Barroll scored his second of the day with 2:47 to play but another Spencer-to-Gismondi connection directly off the ensuing faceoff made it 17-9. Gismondi stretched the lead to 18-9 with 84 seconds left in the period.
• Johnson and Kessler scored two minutes apart to make it 18-11 with 5:35 to play but Bergmann and Schilling responded a minute apart to stretch the lead back to nine.
THE INSIDE STORY
• York finished with a 44-36 advantage in shots.
• Hugo Spencer went 25 of 33 on faceoffs to lead a 26-for-35 night for the Spartans.

Andy Marquet (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) recorded five ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Bullets.
