FIRST PITCH: Today's Centennial Conference (CC) doubleheader marks the 95th and 96th all-time meetings between No. 14 Gettysburg (31-4, 11-1 CC) and McDaniel (14-16-1, 4-8 CC) in a series that dates back to 1981. The Bullets hold a 47-46-1 edge in the all-time series but the Bullets have the last four meetings after the Green Terror swept the 2022 season series in Westminster.
LAST SEASON'S SERIES: Gettysburg had five multiple run innings offensive and the pitching staff allowed just two runs in 14 innings to sweep McDaniel last season The Bullets took game one 7-0 before completing the sweep, 9-2. Emily Bakker led the Bullets offensively with four hits in the twinbill that included three doubles. She also had three RBIs and two runs scored. Paige Forry threw 10 innings in the circle, allowing just one run and five total hits while striking out 14. Bella Sylvester led the Green Terror with four hits that included a 3-for-4 game two. SSD AWARENESS: Gettysburg is Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) Awareness Day this afternoon. Part of Keystone Human Services, Susquehanna Service Dogs breeds, raises, trains, and places assistance dogs and hearing dogs, as well as facility dogs, to assist children and adults with disability to lead the lives they want to live. SSD works hard to match people and dogs to form a successful partnership and follow each team for the working life of the dog and through the dog's retirement. SSD will have Ambassador Dogs and a table with more information about volunteering and raising service dogs. Gettysburg will is also collecting donations at the game to support SSD's mission.
