THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had a seven-run sixth inning in the first game and then plated four in the top of the ninth of game two to sweep Washington (Md.) on the final day of the regular season. The Bullets won the opener 11-7 before completing the sweep, 9-8.
THE LEADERS

Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) led the Bullets with five total hits, rapping out multiple knocks in both games. He also walked four times in game one.
FOR THE FOES
• Will Turner led the Shoremen with four total hits, knocking out two in each game.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Jack Burke and
Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led off the game with back-to-back walks before a double play and
Dominick Balsamo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) singled to center for a 1-0 lead.
• Zach Stolze was hit by a pitch to start the home fourth before Chase Ruppel walked and Drew Kinsey homered to right center for a 3-1 lead. With two runners in scoring position, Matt O'Connor singled to stretch the lead to 5-1 with one out before a double play got Gettysburg out of the inning.
• After Balsamo made it to third on an error in the fifth, he scored on a
Matt Nichols (White Plains, N.Y./Byram Hills) grounded out to make it 5-2.
• In the top of the sixth,
Michael Fischetti (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) led off with a pinch-hit single before a one-out Burke double. Pistner followed with a single to score pinch-runner
Brendan Laqui (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and Burke to cut the deficit to 5-4. Back-to-back singles from
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) and Balsamo tied the game at 5-all. A throwing error gave the Bullets a 6-5 lead before a groundout plated Balsamo to make it 7-5. Laqui and
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) each added RBI singles for a seven-run frame and 9-5 lead.
• Laqui was hit by a pitch in the eighth and stole second before scoring on a two-out Burke single for a 10-5 advantage.
• A Nick Miller leadoff home run in the bottom of the inning and Ruppel RBI single with two outs closed the deficit to 10-7 before Murphy scored Balsamo with an RBI single in the top of the ninth for the 11-7 final.
• In game two,
Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) led off the second inning with a double before moving to third on a sacrifice and scoring on a
Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) groundout for a 1-0 lead.
• Singles with one out in the fourth put Amirata at third and Nichols at first before a Roche squeeze made it 2-0.
• A one-out walk and two-out Kinsey single put runners at the corners for Washington in the fourth. Ty Everitt and Scooter SanFilippo followed with back-to-back singles for a 3-2 lead.
• Murphy started the fifth with a single before a fielding error and fielder's choice put runners at the corners with two outs. Stellato dropped a single into left-center to tie the game before an Amirata double made it 5-3.
• A Miller walk and singles from O'Connor and Reese Hirsh cut the deficit to 5-4 in the seventh.
• Murphy walked to lead off the ninth before a two-out Stellato triple got Murphy home from third for a 6-4 lead. A walk, stolen base and error and
Adam Hicks (Edgewater, Md./Gilman School) infield single stretched the lead to 9-4.
• Four straight hits, including a Brady Wozniak double, to start the home ninth closed the deficit to 9-6 and forced a pitching change. Ruppel walked with one out to load the bases before a Kinsey sacrifice fly and Everitt single made it 9-8 before a fly out ended the game.
THE INSIDE STORY
• With the sweep, Gettysburg claimed the No. 5 seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference tournament. The Bullets travel to McDaniel on Tuesday in a single-elimination game with the winner advancing to top seed Johns Hopkins on Thursday for the opening game of the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

Robert Murphy had two hits.

Zach Klein (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Henderson) threw three innings of relief to pick up his third win of the season in game one while
Tyler Lizell (Upper Dublin, Pa./Upper Dublin) picked up his third save with a three-inning, three-strikeout performance.

Jack Amirata had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored in game two while
Robert Murphy, Burke and
Will Stellato each had two hits.

John Francesconi (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) picked up the win with six innings of work and five strikeouts.
Brendan Trotta (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) picked up his first save, closing out the ninth.
