THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked sixth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, used a 5-2 advantage in the third quarter to take a one-goal lead to the final period and ultimately top No. 18 Trinity (Conn.) 13-11 in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Div. III women's lacrosse tournament at Gettysburg.
THE LEADERS

Sarah Scollin (Oreland, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) led a balanced day for the Bullets with two goals, one assist, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) added two goals, two ground balls, six draw controls and a caused turnovers.

THE REST OF THE STORY

Emily Crane needed less than a minute into the game to convert a free-position tally and stake Gettysburg to a 1-0 lead. The defenses then took over for the next nearly 10 minutes before
Maddie Passarello (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) made it a 2-0 game with 4:28 on the clock. Sarah Marvin cut the deficit in half with 61 seconds left in the opening quarter.
• Kaeley Zito the tied the game just 32 seconds into the second period before
Nina Marra (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) put the Bullet back in front with 11:41 showing. Zito then started a three-goal Trinity run to take a 5-3 lead into the intermission. Kelsey Restivo had a goal and an assist in the run.

Sarah Scollin found
Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) in traffic to put the margin to 5-4 with 13:32 remaining in the third quarter before
Dillon Troy (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) cleared the ball into the offense end and found a waiting
Julia Daly to tie the game with 11:53 on the clock. Alex Lesko put the Bantams back in front with 9:31 remaining but a
Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) connection with Daly and
Grace Battle (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) second-chance free-position goal just 37 seconds apart turned a one-goal deficit into a one-goal Gettysburg lead with 5:05 showing. Lesko retied the game but
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) dodged a defender on an 8-meter shot from the left wing to put the Bullets up one with 66 ticks left in the third.
• Daly finished a solo run for a two-goal advantage with 11:18 to play. Restivo cut the deficit back to one just 37 seconds later but goals from Scollin and Crane just over a minute apart pushed the lead to three for the first time with 8:09 remaining. Ivy Armentrout and Scollin traded goals a minute and a half apart before Sarah Marvin made it a 12-10 game with 4:09 to play. A second Passarello tally made it a three-goal lead once again with 3:21 on the clock before Zito hit a free-position tally with 73 seconds left. Crane, however, won her sixth and final draw control and the Bullets were able to run out the clock.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Trinity finished with a 30-29 edge in shots while Gettysburg had a 14-13 edge in draw controls.
• In addition to
Emily Crane's six draws,
Grace Battle also captured six of her own.

Julia Daly finished with three goals and an assist to go with three ground balls.

Lily Macatee (Street, Md./North Harford) led the defense with four ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls.
• The Bullets improved to 16-1 all-time in home second-round NCAA tournament games. Gettysburg advances to the second weekend of the tournament for the 10th straight time in the current tournament format.
