GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Four members of the Gettysburg women's tennis team were named to the Division III Academic All-District women's tennis team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 3.
The following Bullets women's tennis players were honored as part of the program:
- Senior Kate Alianiello (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe), a health sciences and Italian studies major
- Senior Sarah Guistwite (Carlisle, Pa./Wilson Hill Academy), a biochemistry and molecular biology major
- Junior Emma Ward (Falls Church, Va./George Mason), a psychology and Spanish major
- Sophomore Harper Wood (Omaha, Neb./Gretna), a German studies major
Guistwite earned the honor for the second time in her career.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to four eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
