THE SKINNY STORY
For the second straight season opener, Gettysburg and Alvernia went to overtime and, for the second straight season, the Bullets prevailed in the extra session – this time by a 3-2 margin.

THE LEADERS
Margaret-Ann Graves (Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School) led the Bullets with two goals, including the overtime winner.

FOR THE FOES
• Kelsey McClintock knotted the game for the Golden Wolves in the final 3:14 of regulation.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Off a corner in the 17th minute, Caroline Martin finished an insert from Sofia Mollura for a 1-0 lead.
• That advantage held until Jillian Somers (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) got the equalizer off a feed from Lauren Rudick (Sparks Glencoe, Md./Roland Park Country Day School) to tie the game just 9:52 into the second half. A corner just over three minutes later put Gettysburg in front. Somers put the ball on frame and Margaret-Ann Graves was able to get a stick on it and knock it up and in for a 2-1 lead with 1:25 to play in the third quarter.
• Kelsey McClintock finished a feed from Lillian Case off an Alvernia corner in the 57th minute to force the extra session.
• Nearly four minutes into overtime, the Bullets earned their 12th penalty corner of the game and Graves was once again able to clean up a broken play with a blast from the right side.

THE INSIDE STORY
• For Lauren Rudick, the 40th minute assist was her first collegiate in her debut.
Margaret-Ann Graves recorded her first multi-goal game with the two markers.
• Gettysburg finished with a 16-15 edge in shots and 12-9 edge in penalty corners.
Emilia Saccento (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) made six saves in goal for the Bullets.
