Gettysburg had its top four runners place in the top 15 of the field, leading to a second-place finish in the 6,000-meter race at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational.
THE LEADERS
•
Elyse Tancini (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led the Bullets with a ninth-place showing, turning in a time of 23:42.3.
FOR THE FOES
• Misericordia won the 19-team race with just nine points, putting three runners in the top four.
• Washington & Jefferson's Claire Anderson won the individual title with a time of 21:55.6.
THE REST OF THE STORY
•
Rowe Crawford (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) crossed the line right behind her teammate in 10th place with a time of 23:45.5.
•
Sarah Smith (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) was 14th with a time of 24:01.7 while
Sara Lessard (Sharon, Mass./Sharon) was right behind her in 15th with a time of 24:12.1.
•
Ava Romano (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) placed 20th with a time of 24:27.1.
•
Eliza Hoover (Mahwah, N.J./Academy of the Holy Angels) was 26th (24:50.9) while
Anna Hendrickson (Sykesville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) was 31st (24:59.3).

Abbey Woodcome (43rd, 25:27.9),
Cassidy Gorham (47th, 25:44.6),
Jess McLaughlin (62nd, 26:35.9),
Kyla Lorden (64th, 26:38.5) and
Danielle Fritchman (86th, 28:07.2) rounded out the Bullet competitors.
THE INSIDE STORY
• A total of 138 runners competed at the 6,000-meter distance.

Elyse Tancini turned in the Bullets' 11th-ranked time on the course that will host the regional championship in November.
Rowe Crawford's time ranks 14th for Gettysburg at Big Spring High School.
