THE REST OF THE STORY
•

Ellen Manke and
Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) combined for a block to start a 4-1 finish that Manke put away with her third kill of the 25-20 opening set win.
• Two Gianna Folke kills and a pair of Alexis Stubbs aces fueled a 7-1 start to the second set for the Shorewomen. Two
Clare Farrell (Livingston, N.J./Academy of St. Elizabeth) kills were part of a 6-0 run that gave Gettysburg a 13-12 edge. The rest of the set was back-and-forth. Stubbs opened up a 24-21 lead but an
Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) ace and
Emma Bradshaw (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) block cut the deficit to one. Folke, however, put it away in regulation with sixth kill of the set.
• A Manke kill tied the third set at 3-all and
Kaitlyn Hedrich (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln Way) served five straight points for an 8-3 lead. Leading 10-7, Grall knocked down a kill to start a 12-2 run that featured back-to-back
Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School) aces. Gettysburg took the third set, 25-11.
• The fourth set had 10 ties and four lead changes. Neither team opened up a lead larger than two until late. Holding a 21-19 edge, Galli knocked down a pair of kills around Fox's fifth ace of the day to reach match point and Gonzalez finished off the 25-19 win.
