LANCASTER, Pa. –
Ray Zamloot (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell), a junior on the Gettysburg men's basketball team, has been named Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 2-8.
It is the first time he has earned the weekly honor.
Zamloot led the Bullets to a 2-0 week, averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game, shooting 44.0 percent from the floor and .500 (7-for-14) from long range. He also went 5-for-6 from the stripe and grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game. In a 61-59 win over Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, Zamloot recorded 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. In a 64-56 victory over Muhlenberg on Saturday, he registered his third 20-point game of the season with 20 points and seven rebounds. He hit five 3-pointers on the day.
For the season, he leads the team in scoring at 12.2 points per game and has scored in double figures in each of the last 11 games. He is shooting 41.2 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from long distance with a team-high 47 3-pointers. He is also adding 4.4 rebounds per game, 31 assists and 25 steals.
Gettysburg returns to action at Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 8 p.m.
