THE SKINNY STORY
Salisbury, ranked second in the latest USILA Div. III poll, jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and withstood a second-half rally from No. 10 Gettysburg to notch a 15-12 victory.
THE LEADERS

Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) led the Bullets with three goals and two assists. He also picked up a pair of ground balls.
FOR THE FOES
• Riley Strub paced the Sea Gulls with five goals and two assists for seven points to go with five ground balls.
• Blake Malamphy won 21 of 30 faceoffs, picking up 15 ground balls.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Preston Huffman and Riley Strub each finished solo runs to stake Salisbury to a 2-0 lead in the game's first 2:43.
Jackson Hearn finished a pass from
Jacob Derwinski (Annandale, Va./Landon School [Md.]) to cut the deficit in half with 11:31 showing. Strub capped a 3-0 counter in a 5-minute, 25-second stretch to extend the lead to 5-1 with 5:22 remaining in the quarter. Hearn, though, found
Nicholas Limberg (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) two minutes later to make it 5-2.

Benny Kasoff (Leesburg, Va./Riverside) cut the margin to two with 11:17 to play but the Sea Gulls ran off another three straight to build an 8-3 lead at the break.
• After Limberg made it 8-4 just 1:40 into the third quarter, Connor Herraiz and Strub scored back-to-back tallies and extended the lead to 10-4 midway through the period. After the teams traded markers,
Oliver Duryee (Whitehouse Station, N.Y./The Pingry School) scored a man-up tally from
Will Schwanke (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) and
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) just beat the third-quarter horn to cut the deficit to 12-8.
• Kessler than scored in the opening minute of the fourth quarter to make it a three-goal game. Tristan Plotts momentarily pushed the lead back to four but Schwanke and
Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) scored 66 seconds apart to trim the margin to 13-11. Ryan Della and Hearn traded tallies just shy of three minutes apart to keep it a two-goal game with 6:43 to play. However, Straub put the capper on the day with 2:58 to play.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Salisbury finished with a 53-33 advantage in shots and 45-37 advantage in ground balls.

Henry Bennett (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) led the defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Brian Delduchetto (Weston, Mass./Weston) added two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
