Top-seeded Gettysburg opens quest for CC title at home on Friday

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg will host one of two semifinals of 2026 Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball championship tournament on Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.

In the six-team format, the field will be reseeded for the semifinals. The Bullets (16-9, 11-2 CC), who are the No. 1 seed, will host the lower-seeded remaining team while Johns Hopkins (19-6, 10-3 CC), the No. 2 seed, will host the higher-seeded remaining team in the other semifinal on Friday at 6 p.m.

The first-round matchups will feature third-seeded Ursinus (17-8, 10-3 CC) hosting sixth-seeded McDaniel (16-9, 6-7 CC) and fourth-seeded Franklin & Marshall (21-4, 10-3 CC) hosting fifth-seeded Swarthmore (13-12, 7-6 CC) on Tuesday. The game in Collegeville will begin at 6 p.m. while the game in Lancaster starts at 7 p.m.

The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game, which will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed. Game time will be announced following the conclusion of Friday's semifinals.

Tickets will be sold for each round of the CC tournament and will be available soon on the Centennial ticketing homepage. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6 through high school and senior citizens. Children five and under as well as students and staff from conference institutions are free.

The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on Mar. 6. The NCAA field will be announced on Monday at 1 p.m.

The Bullets are seeking their fourth conference title and first since 2009. It is the 19th tournament appearance for Gettysburg and fifth straight. The Bullets also in search of their sixth NCAA tournament bid.

Junior Ray Zamloot (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) leads Gettysburg in scoring at 12.4 points per game. He is also third on the team with 37 assists while adding a team-best 30 steals and 57 3-pointers. Freshman Caleb Gillus (Falls Church, Va./Sidwell Friends School [D.C.]) is also averaging double figures at 11.3 ppg. He is leading the team with 71 assists to go with 22 steals and 25 3-pointers.

Senior Aidan Mess (Columbia, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) leads the team in rebounding at 6.8 rebounds per game and blocked shots with 41. He is third on the team in scoring at 9.1 points per game.
