THE SKINNY STORY
Emory, ranked 22nd in the latest NFCA Div. III coaches' poll, scored five runs in the fourth inning of game one for a 9-7 win before Gettysburg forged the split 11-4 behind a nine-run third inning in the nightcap.

THE LEADERS
Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) recorded five hits over the doubleheader to lead the Bullets, including a 4-for-5 game two with four RBIs.

FOR THE FOES
• Ashley Chu led the Eagles with five hits, recording three in game one and two in game two.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Audrey Bergan (Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) and Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) drew back-to-back walks to lead off game one. After a sacrifice, Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) singled to center to score Bergan and put runners at the corners. Abby Todd (Roebling, N.J./Northern Burlington County Regional) followed with an RBI single of her own before the Bullets made it 3-0 on a first-third play that scored pinch-runner Ellie Lardiere (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge).
• An Ashley Chu bunt single, wild pitch and stolen base on a walk put runners at the corners with one out in the bottom of the inning. After a steal and walk loaded the bases, Chu scored on an RBI groundout and another wild pitch made it 3-2.
• A Lauren Bickler (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) infield single led off the second before a one-out infield knock and throwing error from Zoe Brennan (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) made it 4-2. A two-out Laczkowski single stretched the lead back to three.
• Marisol Gonzalez led off the home third with a double before a one-out walk and groundout put two in scoring position with two outs. Ella Hoyle poked a single through the left side to cut the deficit back to one at 5-4.
• Chu led of the fourth with a single up the middle before a sacrifice moved her to third. A walk and wild pitch put two in scoring position for Ellie Zerr, who doubled to left to turn the one-run deficit into a one-run lead. A bunt single and Hoyle two-run knock through the right side stretched the lead to 8-5. With the bases loaded, Chu poked a ball back up the middle to cap a five-run inning and put the hosts in front, 9-5.
• DeFreitas drew a walk to lead off the seventh before giving way to pinch-runner Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg), who moved to second on a sacrifice. After an error, Bickler doubled home both runners to make it 9-7. Mackenzie Duford came back into circle, however, and closed the door.
• In game two, Bergan reached on an error to lead off the game before back-to-back singles from Laczkowski and Anika Pelekis staked Gettysburg to a 1-0 lead.
• The bottom of the inning also started with a throwing error before a stolen base and RBI groundout from Ellie Zerr tied the game at 1-all.
• In the third, Bergan led off with a single up the middle before stealing second and taking third on a throwing error. A one-out Pelekis infield single broke the tie before DeFreitas walked and Todd doubled home Pelekis for a 3-1 lead. After a pitching change, back-to-back singles stretched the lead to 5-1. A walk and two-out error extended the lead to 7-1. A Laczkowski single to left scored Shaw before Pelekis tripled and make it a 10-1 game.
• Bickler drew a one-out walk in the fourth before a fielder's choice and Brennan double stretched the advantage to 10 before a Makaila Hope RBI groundout made it 11-2 in the bottom of the frame.
• A Shea Johnson infield single and bunt single from Ashley Chu put the first two runners on in the bottom of the fifth. Zoe Horning doubled with two outs for the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
Lauren Bickler went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk in the opener while Renee Laczkowski and Morgan DeFreitas had two hits and a walk each.
• In the nightcap, Laczkowski and Bickler had their second two-hit games of the day.
Katie LaPlaunt (Warminster, Pa./William Tennant) went five innings for the win in game two.
