THE LEADERS

•
Lexi Waring (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) went the distance in game two, establishing a career high with eight strikeouts in her first collegiate complete game.
FOR THE FOES
• Emily Angel led the Eagles with five hits on the day, including a 4-for-5 game one.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the opener, Maeve Haun led off with an infield single before moving to second on a throwing error. After a sacrifice, Emily Angel doubled to left to score Haun for a 1-0 lead.
• A single, stolen base, error and Linsey Spillman sacrifice fly made it 2-0 in the second before a second error in the inning allowed Lindsey Poole to score for a 3-0 lead.
•
Zoe Brennan (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) walked to start the home third before stealing second. After an
Audrey Bergan double put runners at second and third, an
Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) RBI groundout made it 3-1 before Bergan scored on a
Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 3-2.
• A walk, sacrifice and Haun infield single put runners at the corners before a groundout scored Spillman to make it 4-2. Two errors in the inning helped stretch the lead to 6-2 before Mary Washington took advantage of three errors to go with three hits that included an Angel RBI double in the seventh for the final margin.
• Haun led off game two with a hard-hit single through the left side before stealing second and taking third on a sacrifice. An Erica Shoop double the gap staked the Eagles to a 1-0 lead.
• Gettysburg responded in the bottom of the inning to immediately tie the game. Bergan walked and then was in motion on the first pitch to Laczkowski, who laced a ball to the right-center gap to tie the game.
• In the third,
Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) tripled to open the frame before scoring on a wild pitch to break the deadlock. A Bergan single and Laczkowski home run to straightaway center field stretched the lead to 4-1.
• Brennan walked and Shaw followed with an infield single to put two on with one out in the fourth. A passed ball and Bergan RBI single stretched the advantage to 5-1 before Angel singled on the first pitch of the top of the sixth then scored on an Emily Mousso two-out single to right for the final margin.
