THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked ninth in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll, scored the final four goals of the third quarter and first goal of the fourth quarter to open up a 12-6 lead and defeat Muhlenberg, 12-8.

THE LEADERS
Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) led the Bullets with three goals and an assist.
Murphy Hoey (Fairfield, Conn./Berkshire School [Mass.]) made 12 saves in goal.

FOR THE FOES
• Daniel Friedel was one of four Mules to score two goals.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) and Matt Maciolek (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) ripped unassisted goals to build a 2-0 lead in the game's first 6:24. Chase Kusko cut the deficit in half with 6:34 on the clock but Will Schwanke (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) found the back of the net for a 3-1 lead after one.
• Flynn Decker scored less than a minute into the second quarter but Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) responded with 13:06 on the clock. Jacob Goldstein (St. Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton Watkins) the won the ensuing faceoff and went right to the cage, finishing his second of the year just five seconds later for a 4-1 lead. Off a restart late in the clock, Jackson Hearn fed Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) from the end line to make it 5-2 with 10:25 showing. Decker and Kusko sandwiched a Nicholas Limberg (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) goal to make it 7-4 at the break.
• Daniel Friedel and Aidan Fairweather cut the deficit to 7-6 just 3:19 into the third quarter but Hearn found the back of the net 39 seconds later to start the game-clinching run. Maroney found Johnson, who lasered one home top-shelf from distance with 6:35 remaining before Hearn finished a Maciolek pass and Jackson Barroll (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) deposited a feed from Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School) stretch the lead to five after three.
• Hearn completed his hat trick with 9:55 to play before Friedel and Fairweather both netted their second goals of the day in the final two minutes for the four-goal final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg finished with a 55-27 advantage in shots.
• The Bullets won 16 of 24 faceoffs, including a 13-for-19 showing by Jacob Goldstein, who added 10 ground balls to his goal.
Charlie Johnson finished with two goals and three ground balls.
