THE FACTS
Gettysburg (8-0) 18, Merchant Marine (0-1) 1 (6 inn.)
What: Non-conference baseball game
When: Sunday, Mar. 8
Where: Fort Pierce, Fla.

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg hit four home runs to help defeat Merchant Marine 18-1 in a game called in the sixth inning due to lightning in the area.

THE LEADERS
Alex Wilkie-Viscio (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) did his job on the hill for the Bullets, throwing all six innings with eight strikeouts with no walks and scattered five hits.
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs.

FOR THE FOES
• Braden Vazquez led the Mariners with two hits.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After both teams turned a double play in the first inning and with two on in the bottom of the second, Adam Hicks (Edgewater, Md./Gilman School) drew a two-out walk with a wild pitch that scored the first run and ignited a 10-run frame. Will Bercaw (Langhorne, Pa./The Pennington School) followed with a walk to load the bases before Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) followed with a bouncing ball down the first-base line to two runners for a 3-0 lead. Will Stellato then sent a three-run home run out to left field to make it 6-0. A Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) double and Dominick Balsamo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) tripled to right for a 7-0 lead. Two walks coupled with a Brendan Laqui (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) two-run single and Hicks RBI single capped the 10-run inning.
• A one-out Drew Davis triple and Charles Cahalan RBI groundout made it 10-1 in the top of the third but Stellato immediately got that back with a one-out home run for his second long ball in as many innings. Balsamo added a double and Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) knocked a two-run single to right to make it 13-1.
• Hicks led off the fourth with his first collegiate home run before a walk before a wild pitch, flyout and Mike Coleman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) single stretched the lead to 15-1. A Roche single and Laqui three-run homer set the final score.

THE INSIDE STORY
Brendan Laqui had two hits and five RBIs.
Dominick Balsamo had three hits, three runs scored and an RBI, finishing a home run short of the cycle.
Mike Coleman, Will Roche and Adam Hicks each had two knocks while Roche and Hicks both drove in two.
