THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg put up a pair of two-run innings and the pitching did its job as part of a 5-2 win over Thiel.
THE LEADERS
•
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) led the Bullets with two hits, a run scored and RBI.
FOR THE FOES
• Max Bihler had three hits and an RBI for the Bobcats.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• With one out in the top of the second,
Mike Coleman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) and
Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) drew back-to-back walks before
Brendan Laqui (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) poked a single through the left side to load the bases. With two outs,
Will Bercaw (Langhorne, Pa./The Pennington School) drew a walk to force in the first run of the game before a
Robert Murphy single to shallow center plated Roche for a 2-0 lead.
• Thiel cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the third. Joey Fell drew a leadoff walk before Colton Brightwell singled. With two outs, a Max Bihler slow roller got home the Bobcats' first run.
• Murphy and
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) both singled to start the fifth before a one-out
Dominick Balsamo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) single through the right side made it 4-1.
• A Calvin Cackowski double and Bihler single made it 4-2 in the home sixth before Bercaw laid down a bunt that just stayed fair to start the third. A pair of walks around three stolen bases loaded the bags with nobody out before
Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) drove in a run with a groundout.
THE INSIDE STORY

Luca Tosca (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) pitched four innings with five strikeouts and just one walk to pick up his first win in a Gettysburg uniform on the mound.

•
