THE SKINNY STORY
Catholic used a seven-run second inning in game two to key a doubleheader sweep of Gettysburg. After winning game one 3-1, the Cardinals held on to win game two, 11-6.
THE LEADERS

Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) led the Bullets with two hits and two RBIs in game two.
•
Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) added a hit in each game to go with three driven in.
FOR THE FOES
• Katie McHugh led the Cardinals with three hits on the day to go with three runs scored, an RBI and a walk.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg plated the first run of game one, breaking the scoreless deadlock in the top of the third.
Audrey Bergan (Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) led off the inning with a single down the line before moving to second on a
Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) sacrifice. After taking third on a wild pitch, Bergan scored on an
Anika Pelekis two-out single up the middle.
• Aubrynn Arcement led off the bottom of the frame with a single before taking second on a sacrifice. After moving up 60 more feet on a fly out to left, Sam Grillo walked and stole second before Emma Fleming drove in both runners with a single to right for a 2-1 lead.
• Katie McHugh singled to start the fourth then stole both second and third before scoring on a Kerrie Hatcliffe sacrifice fly for the 3-1 final.
• In game two, a McHugh double scored Olivia Stinchcomb for a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
• Catholic then sent 12 to the plate in the second inning, plating seven to open up an 8-0 lead. A walk around singles from Acrement and Webber loaded the bases with one out. Sam Grillo then walked home run before a fielder's choice scored a second run. An error and walk reloaded the bases for Katie Scolese, whose double to the gap cleared the bases for a 7-0 lead. After a wild pitch and walk, a first-third double steal stretched the lead to 8-0.
• Gettysburg cut the deficit in half with a four-run fifth.
Abigail Gold (Apex, N.C./Apex) led off with a single before an error put two on. A walk loaded the bases before a
Renee Laczkowski one-out single scored two. Pelekis followed with a two-run double to make it 8-4.
• The Cardinals got one back on a single, wild pitch, sacrifice and RBI groundout in the bottom of the frame.

Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) walked to led off the sixth before giving way to pinch-runner
Elie Lardiere (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge). Back-to-back errors loaded the bases. After an RBI groundout and lineout, Shaw singled to make it 9-6.
• Back-to-back singles started the home sixth before a one-out Arcement double and Hatcliffe RBI groundout set the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Morgan Gardiner struck out five for the win in game one while Alex Pley finished it off with two perfect innings for the save.
