THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg and Swarthmore played seven scoreless innings in game one before the Bullets walked off a 2-1 win in the eighth innings. The Garnet then broke out the bats for a 14-3, five-inning victory to earn the split in game two.

THE LEADERS
Abby Todd (Roebling, N.J./Northern Burlington County Regional) had two hits in each game to lead the Bullets.
Lexi Waring (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) went the distance in game one, striking out six to earn the win in the circle.

FOR THE FOES
• Iris Barone paced the Garnet offensively with four hits on the day, recording a pair in each contest.
• Elisabeth O'Connor went 3-for-3 with three extra-base hits and five RBIs in the nightcap.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Neither team even had a runner reach third base until the game went to the international tiebreaker in the eighth inning. With Regan Valenzuela at second, Serafina Tinio doubled her home with one out for the game's first run. Gettysburg worked around a two-out walk with a groundball to keep it just a 1-0 game.
• With Lauren Bickler (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) at second, a flyout to right field allowed the freshman to tag and move to third with one out. She then beat the throw home on a ground ball to tie the game. After a wild pitch and single put the winning run at second base with one out, a deep fly ball was dropped to allow Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) to score from second for the 2-1 win and hand Swarthmore its first conference loss of the season.
• After a 6-up, 6-down first inning, the first seven Garnet players recorded a hit in the second inning for a 6-0 lead. Ava Babcock had a two-run double in the inning and Elisabeth Connor roped a two-run triple to the fence in left for the big knocks of the inning.
• Doubles from Kate Borza and O'Connor around a Lia Fong walk made it 8-0 in the third.
Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) led off the home third with a single through the left side before moving up to second on a groundout and scoring on a Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) single up the middle. A Pelekis single, fly out and throwing error made it 8-2.
• The Garnet responded with another six runs in the fourth to open up a 14-2 lead. O'Connor had her second triple of the game after a Babcock two-run single and Fong two-run double to make it 13-2 before O'Connor scored on a wild pitch for the 12-run advantage with just one out.
• Bickler tripled with one out in the bottom of the fifth before scoring on a two-out Pelekis single up the middle for the final score.

THE INSIDE STORY
Jamie Shaw and Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) joined Abby Todd with two hits in game one.
• Each team recorded eight hits in the opener but could only muster the three combined runs.
• Todd and Anika Pelekis had two hits apiece in the nightcap.
