THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 12th in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll, scored the first eight goals of the second half to turn an 8-6 edge into a 16-7 victory at Washington (Md.) in a critical matchup at the top of the conference standings.
THE LEADERS

Jackson Barroll (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) led the Bullets with five points on three goals and two assists. He also had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) matched his season high with four goals, including the 100th of his career in the game's opening minute. He also had an assist and three ground balls.

Ethan Kessler got Gettysburg on the board just 53 seconds into the contest before
Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) found
Nicholas Limberg (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) for a 2-0 lead with 11:25 showing. After Talen Behler got Washington on the board,
Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) and Hearn each found the back of the net to stretch the advantage to 4-1 with 6:42 on the clock. Jake Laubach and
Jackson Barroll traded tallies 38 seconds to keep it a three-goal margin after one.

Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) deposited a
Cooper Savoy (Killingsworth, Conn./Notre Dame West Haven) pass into the net just 1:29 into the second quarter before Washington got two goals from Aidan Ventura to key a 4-1 run over just 3 minutes, 52 seconds that closed the margin to 7-6 with 5:47 on the clock. Kessler scored with 2:23 on the clock to extend the lead back to two at the break.
• Kessler made it a goal on each side of the intermission with another solo run. He then found Barroll, who had a hand in all three goals of a three-goal stretch in the final 3:37 of the quarter. Barroll scored again from
Owen McAllister (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) then found Hearn 24 seconds after that for a 12-6 lead after three.
• Another Kessler tally and a
Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School) man-down goal pushed the advantage to 14-6 with 11:29 to play.
Henry Bennett (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) got the first of his career with 3:08 to play before Hedley added an assist to his goal, finding
JP Meyo (Westfield, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) off the ensuing faceoff. Laubach set the final tally with the Shoremen's lone tally of the second half with 1:13 to play.
THE INSIDE STORY
• With the victory, Gettysburg clinches one of the top two seeds in the conference tournament and will host one of the two semifinals.
• The Bullets held a 52-33 advantage in shots.

Murphy Hoey (Fairfield, Conn./Berkshire School [Mass.]) made 13 saves in goal.

Brian Delduchetto (Weston, Mass./Weston) nabbed four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
