What: Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse semifinal
When: Thursday, Apr. 30
Where: Gettysburg, Pa.

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked ninth in the latest USILA Div. III coaches' poll, raced out to a 10-1 lead late in the second quarter and rolled to an 18-6 win over Washington (Md.) in the semifinals of the 2026 Centennial Conference men's lacrosse championship tournament.

THE LEADERS
Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) recorded five goals – all in the decisive first half – to lead the Bullets into their third straight championship game.

FOR THE FOES
• Peyton Gestole led the Shoremen with a goal and two assists.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) opened the scoring just over six minutes into the contest. Nicholas Limberg (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) sprinted to goal and doubled the lead nearly three minutes later before Jake Arcudi broke through for Washington and made it a 2-1 game with 5:36 to play. Charlie Johnson started a three-goal flurry in the final minute of the first quarter to take control of the game. Vincent Ferrara (Sparta Township, N.J./Delbarton School) added another solo run before Hearn dished out the first assist of the night, finding Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School) with some quick passing off the ensuing faceoff with just five ticks remaining.
• Two Johnson tallies in the opening 2:42 of the second quarter extended the lead to 7-1 before Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) found Jackson Barroll (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) on the wing for an 8-0 lead with 10:29 on the clock. Goals from Kessler and Johnson just 94 seconds apart extended the advantage to 10-1 with 2:26 showing. Jack Laubach found the back of the net in the final 45 seconds but that left plenty of time for Johnson to net his fifth and extend the lead back to nine at the break.
• Hearn and Peyton Gestole traded man-up goals in the first 4:09 of the third quarter. After Franklin Smithmyer made it 12-4, Hearn hit a cutting JP Meyo (Westfield, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) down the alley off the ensuing faceoff for the junior's second tally of the year. Cam Carrigan and Nicky Bond scored 13 seconds apart for a 4-1 Shoremen run but Gettysburg netted the final five of the night. Patrick Maroney (Hingham, Mass./Boston College H.S.) finished a solo run with 1:38 remaining in the third for a 14-6 lead.
Luke Barbera (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) found the back of the net then found Kessler, who fired from distance for a 10-goal lead with 8:36 to play. Cooper Savoy (Killingsworth, Conn./Notre Dame West Haven) scored on the doorstep before Griffin Hough (Bourne, Mass./Tabor Academy) found Oliver Duryee (Whitehouse Station, N.Y./The Pingry School) in transition for the final marker with 2:05 on the clock.

THE INSIDE STORY
