THE SKINNY STORY
After York (Pa.) walked off an 11-10 game-one victory, Gettysburg exploded for a season in runs and hits in game two to earn the split in run-rule fashion, 17-1.

THE LEADERS
Zoe Brennan (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) led the Bullets in the nightcap victory with a 3-for-3 day, including a double, with three RBIs and two runs scored.

FOR THE FOES
• Alexis McDonaugh went 4-for-4 to lead the Spartans, including the game-winning single, in the opener.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, a pair of walks and Abby Todd (Roebling, N.J./Northern Burlington County Regional) RBI single staked Gettysburg to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
• Two walks around a Danella Silagy single loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Noelle Smith doubled to the gap for a 2-1 York lead. A sacrifice fly pushed the lead to 3-1.
• Alexis McDonaugh poked a single through the right side to score a pair of runs with two outs and make it 5-1.
• Sara DeFrancesco led off the third with a double before a bases-loaded fielder's choice extended the advantage to 6-1.
• The Bullets drew three straight walks to start the fourth inning before Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) scored on a groundout but the Spartans responded with three in the bottom of the inning. Three singles had the bases loaded before a two-out double Kate Miller cleared the bases and pushed the lead to 9-2.
• Five walks helped key an eight-run fifth inning for the Bullets. Lauren Bickler (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) led off with an infield single before Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) and Pelekis both walked to load the bases. A Todd single, Lily Mader (Las Vegas, Nev./Valley) and Zoe Brennan sacrifice fly each scored a run to make it 9-5. With two outs, Kate Buckley (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) and Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) both walked to make it 9-6. A two-run Bickler single and two-run double from Laczkowski gave Gettysburg a 10-9 lead.
• Allison Hunsberger led off the bottom of the inning with an infield single before a sacrifice, McDonaugh single and McKeown RBI groundout tied the game.
• An Ashlyn Weigle led off the home seventh with a bunt single before stealing second and scoring on a two-out McDonaugh single down the line for the walkoff win.
• Gettysburg used another five-walk first inning in game two to help jump out to an early 5-0 lead. A Shaw walk and singles from Bickler and Pelekis loaded the bases with one out. Todd walked to force in the first run before a Mader sacrifice fly made it 2-0. Bella Rausch (Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) walked to reload the bases before a Brennan single up the middle plated Pelekis. Two more walks to Elie Lardiere (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and Shaw stretched the first-inning lead to five.
• Laczkowski and Pelekis started the second with singles before a passed ball, Todd RBI groundout and Mader sacrifice fly extended the lead to 7-0 before McKeown and Barstad led off the home half with back-to-back doubles to make it 7-1.
• Gettysburg put together a nine-run third inning to extend the lead to 16-1. A Brennan single and Lardiere double started the big frame. After a fly out, Bickler and Laczkowski both singled to make it 9-1. A pitching change and five straight hits ballooned the lead to 15-1. Mader and Brennan both had two-run doubles in the stretch. After another pitching change, Lardiere singled home Brennan for the 16-1 lead.
• An error and one-out Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) pinch-hit double pushed the lead to 17-1 in the fourth.

THE INSIDE STORY
Lauren Bickler and Abby Todd both had two hits and two RBIs in game one.
• The Bullets drew 12 walks in game one and another six in game two.
• The 17 runs and 17 hits in game two were both season highs for Gettysburg. The 17 runs were the most in a game since an 18-1 at Washington in 2022.
Anika Pelekis joined Zoe Brennan with three hits in game two.
• Bickler and Renee Laczkowski both had two hits in the second game while Mader was 1-for-1 with two sacrifice flies and four RBIs after drawing three walks in the first game.
