Two Gettysburg women’s tennis players tabbed Academic All-District

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Two members of the Gettysburg women's tennis team were named to the Division III Academic All-District women's tennis team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.

Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 2.

The following Bullets women's tennis players were honored as part of the program:
  • Senior Emma Ward (Falls Church, Va./George Mason), a psychology and Spanish major
  • Sophomore Arina Zheliaskova (Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation/Gymnasium 540), a business, organizations and management/communication studies major
Ward earned the honor for the second time in her career.

To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to four eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
