GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Six members of the Gettysburg men's track and field team were named to the Division III Academic All-District track and field/cross country team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.
Academic All-District honorees are eligible to advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 14.
The following Bullets men's track and field athletes were honored as part of the program:
- Junior Jayden Craig (Westminster, Md./Westminster), a business, organizations and management/psychology major
- Sophomore Trey Hunter (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico), an undeclared major
- Junior Joaquin Lalama (Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador/Colegio Americano de Quito), an economics major
- Sophomore Mark Overlander (Marietta, Pa./Donegal), a health sciences major
- Sophomore Eli Steel (York, Pa./York Country Day School), a chemistry major
- Junior Tyler Trout (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), a business/economics major
Trout earned his second straight recognition.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and must have a mark that ranks in the top 50 of his region in at least one event. Up to six eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
